Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, Media, Central London, £75,000

My client, a fast growing Media agency is looking to recruit an FP&A Manager in to their London Finance team.

Job purpose

To effectively manage the groups financial planning & analysis, including preparation, interpretation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, client profitability, commercial dashboard analysis and commercial support

Key responsibilities

  • To manage budget setting process, including preparation of high quality client and channel analysis to understand drivers of growth, as required to established timetables.
  • To manage quarterly forecasting process, including preparation of high quality clients and channel analysis and meaningful comparisons to budget, as required to established timetables
  • To manage monthly management accounts process, including preparation of high quality clients and channel analysis and meaningful comparisons to budget and latest forecast, as required to established timetables - and ensuring these are distributed to the individual boards to established timetables
  • To manage the preparation of the financial sections of the packs for the main stakeholder board meeting at the end of each month, including narrative and insight - working closely with the CFO
  • To support the Financial Controller during the month end close process, including reviewing billings and income to ensure they meet with expectations before reporting
  • Development, delivery and ongoing support of high level business intelligence through appropriate analytical tools
  • Development of commercial insight to enable benchmarking, insightful comparison and flag commercial opportunities. Key tasks include management of data, integrity checks, interpretation, benchmarking and other analysis
  • Working closely with the CFO, Group Business Directors and the board alike, develop the agencies client and channel performance metrics
  • Make value adding commercial recommendations on pricing, resource allocation and costing issues in respect of media type and channel
  • Manage all aspects of client audit enquiries, working with the CFO and Managing Director/Deputy MD as appropriate
  • Deputising for the Chief Financial Officer as and when required
  • Managing, coaching and developing direct reports

Key skills & qualifications

  • CCAB qualified (recognised Professional Accountancy body qualification), preferably CIMA
  • 3 years post qualification experience in media finance roles
  • Graduate or equivalent
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Must have managed staff
