Our client is a newly merged housing association which owns and manages 24,000 properties in London, Surrey and the Midlands. They are committed to delivering great services to their residents, building communities to be proud of and developing new affordable housing. Achieving strong financial and operating performance, they are working hard to harmonise their systems and processes to unlock the benefits which amalgamation will bring.
A strong finance team that is close to the core operations and provides strong decision support is essential to this high performance, growing business. This is an opportunity to join at the start of a journey towards service excellence.
Reporting to the Finance Director you will have a high degree of autonomy to lead and manage the financial reporting, payroll and technical accounting functions in order to deliver best practice services to internal and external customers. Providing strong leadership, you will establish a management accounting service which delivers high quality, financial reporting that incorporates effective decision support and challenge. In addition, you will co-ordinate delivery of an efficient annual statutory accounts process as well as managing the maintenance of group accounting ledgers and payroll function. Liaising extensively with external advisors and presenting relevant matters to the Board and sub-comittees, you will exhibit an absolute commitment to quality customer service.
A qualified accountant and experienced leader, you will have the opportunity to develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence across the teams you manage. With the resilience to thrive and deliver in a fast paced, change environment you think strategically and creatively.
