Head of Finance

The Company:

Our client have considerable experienced in the management of all aspects of community leisure, such as managing leisure centres (wet and dry), operating dual use sites (for example, schools and colleges), running sport and physical activity programmes (both indoor and outdoor), even providing consultancy and advisory services for councils, local companies, organisations and associations.

They employ 235+ staff and have in excess of 1 million customer visits per year across the four main sites in Seaford, Lewes, Newhaven and Peacehaven.

The Role:

The Head of Finance and Resources reports to the CEO who in turn reports to the Board of Trustees. As a senior member of the Business Development Team, the post holder will provide strategic financial management influence regarding business growth, ensuring the long term sustainability of the Trust.

The Head of Finance and Resources has direct management responsibilities for the Finance Support Manager who is the line manager to the Trainee Finance Assistant and Finance Administration Assistant. The wider team, including site Administration Assistants are currently line managed by the Area Managers within operations and by way of regular group meetings which has traditionally included the Head of Finance and Resources and Finance Support Manager.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance and Resources is responsible for the overall financial management and reporting of Wave, ensuring ongoing viability and a secure financial future in line with the organisation’s charitable status, purpose, vision and objectives.
