My client is an established, highly successful business offering a wide range of products and services to a demanding and discerning customer base.

The business is now looking to appoint a Head of Finance to take full financial responsibility for one of its major divisions.

Job role:

  • Working alongside the senior management of the division to optimise the financial performance of each Business Unit
  • Responsible for all financial aspects of business unit strategy and delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and commercial challenge
  • The Head of Finance will have overall responsibility for ensuring a robust financial control environment within the business unit

Principle Accountabilities

  • Commercial Finance support to the Heads of Business
  • Supervision of all Management Accounts functions for the business unit
  • Supervision and preparation of Divisional Budgets and Forecasts and presentation to Directors
  • Present a financial review of the Division on a monthly basis to the company directors
  • Investment appraisals
  • Ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations
  • Financial review of Business Opportunities

Responsibilities include

  • Support delivery of divisional budgets as well as stock/working capital targets by providing clear and insightful analysis, and robust challenge where appropriate, working with relevant senior teams
  • Full Control and Integrity of Business Unit ledger
  • Internal Controls for Financial related processes
  • Ensure the training & development of new staff
  • Lead and develop finance and admin teams
  • Ensure BU Managers have a full understanding of the financial aspects of their role
  • Ensure that Procedures relevant to Financial Information are fully understood by those responsible for their ongoing production
  • Work closely with Finance teams across the business
  • Champion and support the introduction of Finance & IS procedures
  • To carry out other related duties as required by the Finance Director, Managing Director or Senior Manager

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Proven experience of working in a senior Finance role, preferably in a commercial environment
  • CIMA, ACA, ACCA Qualified
  • Ability to investigate, negotiate, mediate and resolve issues
  • Change Agent

This is a senior role which requires flexibility in working hours and the ability to travel freely between the Channel Islands and the UK.
