Bookmark are delighted to have been retained by Yorkshire Cancer Research to recruit their new Head of Events position. Yorkshire Cancer Research are an independent charity, dedicated to helping people in and around Yorkshire to avoid, survive and cope with cancer. They're now looking for an energetic senior events leader who wants a role where they can use their broad events experience and well-developed leadership skills to help shape the future of this fantastic charity.
About the role
The Head of Events will play a key role in redeveloping the charities' events strategy, transforming the size, scale and profile of the events delivered from the small events currently held to larger events and conferences which will increase fundraising, further develop the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand and help deliver the charities key strategic goals.
Leading and building an events team, the Head of Events will require strong people management and leadership skills as well as the ability to design and deliver an innovative events strategy plus be hands on in the deliver of the strategy and the events.
About the person
We're looking for an experienced specialised events practitioner with a track record of delivering successful events of different scales and types. You will be no stranger to leading large conferences and also have a history of organising celebrity endorsed consumer driven events. You must have excellent planning skills and brilliant attention to detail. You'll be meticulous in ensuring that all elements of your events are delivered smoothly, on-time, on-budget and that events deliver excellent return on investment.
Experience within the charity sector would be beneficial but is not a pre-requisite as experience within the corporate world would also be extremely valuable here. You'll be a confident, professional individual with high standards and be extremely motivated by the opportunity to play an important role in the future of a fantastic, Yorkshire focused charity.
