What is the Role
As SSE Airtricity builds on its core purpose of providing essential services to our Customers, now and in a low carbon future, there is a requirement to increase the focus on all aspects of energy services within our business. This leadership role will play a major part in driving this important strategic and customer-centric transformation.
This role will lead the Energy Services business in understanding and demonstrating the benefits of our services measured through the development and continued growth of energy service offerings.
This role has responsibility for the management and development of the energy services business across ROI and NI. The energy services business (SSE Airtricity Energy Services) is operated as a standalone separate company with its own registered company number and P&L. The roll has responsibility for the operational management of this business along with Sales and Marketing.
-Safety, Health & Environment
Lead through example by demonstrating exemplary behaviours in all aspects of the role and act as an ambassador for SSE SHE policies, values and culture both internally and externally. Actively develop a culture of health and safety across the function ensuring all teams understand what is expected.
-Leadership & Culture
Lead a high performing operational team ensuring clear accountable performance measures are set in line with strategic goals. Demonstrate an ability to lead, inspire and influence through a significant period of change while achieving outstanding levels of commitment and performance. Represent the Company at external forums and committees as required to raise profile of business in the external market.
Ensure an optimal operating model is in place for Energy services, working to deliver operational excellence across all key service areas to deliver best in class customer service. This role has full operational responsibility for the delivery of the domestic and commercial energy services business across ROI and NI.
Has full accountability for all key performance indicators as agreed with the Director of Airtricity. It will have full P&L responsibility and will lead a team of circa 100 FTE plus subcontracting teams.
-Sales & Business Development
Responsible for achieving the sales targets through compliant sales delivery and marketing maximising the opportunity amongst our current energy customers. Working with business development to develop new and diversified products within the energy services business. Secure and deliver large scale energy efficiency retrofit projects including NISEP and SEAI projects.
-Governance and Compliance
Ensure that the function complies with all necessary regulatory obligations in line with internal standards and external requirements. Ensure company policies, standards and obligations are communicated and understood by all in the organisation.
What do I need?
-A track record of success and experience in the energy or similar sectors where business development is a core part of the role.
-The ability to demonstrate or develop technical understanding of energy services products.
-Relationship management with key external stakeholders including County Councils, Government Bodies and large contractors etc.
-Act as an ambassador for SSEs policies, values and culture to other teams and individuals within SSE and demonstrate sound judgement.
-Excellent financial and budgetary capability with a proven ability to lead and innovate in a Customer focused environment.
-Sound commercial thinking coupled with high personal ethics and a values-based belief system.
-Motivational leader, well-grounded, and prepared to stand up for their beliefs.
-Absolute personal integrity - the public profile of the organisation is of paramount importance.
-Charismatic and inspirational, able to influence, motivate and generate teamwork among a group of highly experienced individuals.
-Ability to influence at Director level.
