Role Overview: As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons that encourage students to develop essential life skills and a love for cooking and nutrition. You will have the opportunity to create an inspiring learning environment where students can explore a range of culinary techniques, experiment with flavors, and understand the importance of food in health and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology across KS3 and KS4.
Encourage students to develop their practical skills, creativity, and knowledge in food preparation and nutrition.
Provide a safe and organized learning environment, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are met.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them succeed.
Inspire students to develop confidence and independence in their culinary skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related subject.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Food Technology.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate students.
Experience in secondary education, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
