Head of Communications

A fantastic opportunity for an exceptional and confident communicator who will be responsible for the external and internal communication strategy, development of brand awareness, and marketing activity for a leading bank in the UK pensions market. The successful candidate will report in directly to the Managing Director UK.

Liaises with internally: Sales, Marketing, Managing Board, Executive team

Liaises with externally: Clients and potential Clients, PR Company, Publications, Event suppliers, Brand & marketing agencies, Industry bodies, Print and media suppliers, Online and social media suppliers

The job holder will be solely responsible for the following decisions:

  • Purchasing decisions within approved parameters
  • Content and media relations contacts
  • Event topics and themes
  • Copy for any collateral
  • Responses to media enquiries

And will work alongside management and otehr colleagues around:

  • Annual budget
  • Activity planning
  • Communication strategy
  • Items requiring Compliance oversight (content/documentation etc.)

Key Activities and Accountabilities of the role

  • UK external communication strategy
  • UK messaging to reflect business strategy and objectives
  • Management of PR company
  • Oversight on press releases
  • Social media
  • Manage content/thought leadership
  • Internal communication strategy
  • Prepare UK news/blogs to be shared across the Group and intranet
  • Manage content for UK office meetings
  • Chair internal Group Pension Board
  • UK brand management:

- Ensure brand reflects business strategy and objectives

- Further develop brand awareness in UK pension industry

  • UK marketing strategy

- Sales collateral including not limited: sales presentations, product sheets,

- Manage UK product launches & campaigns

- Client surveys & research

  • CRM

- Maintenance & analysis

- Content management

  • Website

- Maintenance and content management

  • Actively supporting and driving sales initiatives

- Review sales proposals

- Co-ordinate & review RFPs

  • Client and potential Client event design and delivery
