Due to relocation, we are looking to fill the exciting role of Head of Communications and Marketing. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and creative Communications and Marketing expert who has experience of developing a strong brand, raising organisational profile, and leading a team.

The Role

As a key member of Orwell’s People & Culture team, the Head of Communications and Marketing will take responsibility for both internal and external communications and the creative and effective use of digital and online platforms. Using analytical tools, you will have an insight into engagement strategies for targeting different audiences across multiple channels.

As well as leading the newly formed Communications team, you will contribute to, and oversee the design of visually appealing and accessible content, including graphics and professional documents such as publications, banners, and branded materials.

The Head of Communications and Marketing will develop and promote Orwell’s brand, using experience and knowledge of developing relationships with local, national and specialist media and cultivating partnerships. This role will promote Orwell’s great work both internally and externally, shouting about our successes, our values, and our people.

About you

We are looking for someone with loads of enthusiasm, great ideas, and high creativity, who works innovatively and feels they fit with our PACE values.

Our ideal candidate will hold a degree or have equivalent work experience in a related field and will either hold a leadership qualification or be willing to achieve this within 18 - 24 months.

This is a hands-on leadership role, so you must be willing to support creatively, alongside delivering the Communications Strategy.

You will have experience in -

  • Using software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and social media platforms
  • Responding to media enquiries
  • Producing engaging content
  • Managing the production of quality content

Key skills and attributes -

  • Ability to think strategically, identifying new opportunities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Confident user of information technology
