Embrace a challenging new role full of the opportunities you need to grow your career.In joining our nursing cohort at CAS Behavioural Health, you’ll become part of an team, delivering exceptional care in a high quality, up-to-date environment alongside nurses as keen to develop themselves as you are.We’ll support you in working towards your specific career goals, with new responsibilities and training opportunities that will ensure you develop professionally and personally every day.If you’re ready for a step up in your career, choose an organisation with the vision to take you further.Woodside Hospital provides assessment, treatment and fast stream rehabilitation for men with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.We provide a safe therapeutic hospital service for 9 males who have suffered a recent on-going acute episode in the community.It also complements acute and secure hospital settings by offering assessment, treatment and rehabilitation as part of a robust care pathway offered by Community Care which includes residential and supported living services.In this role you will:• Oversee the effective admission/discharge of Patients• Ensure all social and health needs are assessed and risks evaluated• Be responsible for the implementation of risk assessments, Leading and mentoring the Nursing team, undertaking clinical supervision and deputising for the Manager• Take responsibility for Patient / staff meetings, including CPAs; Handovers; Tribunals, Ward rounds and cover Nurse shifts when needed• Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.• Visible role model, mentor and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning, development, inquiry and professionalism.• Ensures Patient and family involvement (where appropriate) in evidence based care planning and risk assessment.• Actively contribute to the recruitment and retention of staff to the service and hospital.• Ensures that clinical communication, records, handovers, reports and other patient related information is conveyed and recorded promptly and accurately.•. Manage service and resources effectively, taking steps to ensure that appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience and skills is in place including effective rota management, annual leave and training arrangements.• Undertakes and completes clinical investigations and complaints and also HR investigations, ensuring these are completed thoroughly, promptly and to a high standard.• Ensures that the legislative frameworks regarding the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act• Responsible for Medicines Management at the Service, and ensures that all Registered Nurses undergo competency based assessments as part of their induction and facilitates an open and transparent framework for managing medicine errors.• Ensures that Incident reporting is completed promptly and takes corrective action where required, engaging colleagues in the process, where appropriate.• Leads Team reviews of incidents; makes sure that staff receive incident debriefs in a timely way.• Engages with other members of the Service MDT, to facilitate positive and efficient MDT workingWe're looking for people who:• Have knowledge of the Mental Health Act• Are a Registered Mental Nurse/Registered Nurse Learning Disability (current pin number)• Currently operating as a Head of Care / Ward manager or significant experience in a Senior Nursing role• Have acute, rehabilitation, forensic and/or secure psychiatry experience• Have evidence of functioning in a supervisory role as a clinician in a similar setting within a multi-disciplinary team.In return we’ll offer you:• RCNi membership• Monthly reflective practice, support with revalidation & CPD opportunities• Expert clinical supervision & peer support• A high quality work environment• Free meals on duty• Opportunity to under
