As Head of Business Development your role will be to design and develop a business development strategy and associated projects to maximise trading opportunities across multiple channels and sectors. You will lead the Business Development team to maximise business opportunities, customers and income from existing and new relationships. Lead on contract and supplier development for the organisation to improve volume related discounts, whilst increasing sales and customer satisfaction across the client base. In addition to designing and developing the wider strategy other key responsibilities will include;
-Develop an annual Business Development plan and lead on the implementation of the 3 year strategic plan for the organisation to identify new sources of income and steer business growth and development.
-Lead on strategic delivery of any BD projects, ensuring support and delivery staff, have the necessary resources to deliver projects to time and budget, maximising project deliverables.
-Co-ordinate the development of annual marketing plans, in consultation with the Marketing team to ensure the marketing plan is delivered to support overall sales and business development activity.
-Drive and shape the development of new services and products in response to local need, managing and enhancing stakeholder relationships as appropriate.
-Proactively research and identify tendering opportunities and write compelling bids to secure new business.
-Lead a team of 5 to include performance management and appraisals.
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will have previous experience in strategic business development ideally working with commissioners and funders. You will have strong and demonstrable project management experience along with a proven track record in managing and leading a team of business development professionals. Writing business development strategies and managing implementation and delivery is also essential. In addition you will have previous experience in managing a diverse workload and achieving income generation targets.
You will have a tenacious approach, be results driven and come with excellent communication, influencing, writing and presentation skills.
