Head of Analytics (Mortgage / Property Lending)
An exciting opportunity has been created for a Head of Analytics to join our client, a highly respected financial services provider, specialising in property lending solutions.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is responsible for building the required financial and data reporting for the lending business. Accountable for all aspects of data reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including investors and funders.
To ensure that the board has sufficient oversight of key metrics and that the company can report to capital markets/securitisation standards.
Develop models to support new products and risk monitoring.
Develop and implement a suite of required portfolio level financial reporting
Implement P&L level financial reporting and upload to the Group consolidated financial accounts
Daily reporting on portfolio concentration levels to ensure compliance with funding limits. Implement early warning system to identify pipeline stress
Analyse and produce reporting on financial performance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis (New business, Portfolio, Expenses, Margin / Returns analysis) and compare to targets, and investigate the drivers, communicating to the Board and investors
Oversee the hedging and funding process for all loans
Develop pricing models and monitor ROE on new business
Help develop risk models to predict probability of default and losses
Work with the servicer to monitor SLA adherence and to check fees have been correctly applied
Support and take ownership for ad-hoc data requests
Ensure all reporting requirements are documented in standard operating procedures
Build reporting to capital markets standards to satisfy funders, and future investors
Minimum three years data analytics or management information experience within a financial services business
Advanced MS Excel data analysis and equivalent system database reporting experience
Undergraduate degree 2.1
Experience of working within a mortgage lender
Structured finance analysis experience
Understanding of investor reporting
Financial, numerical, analytical or accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)
Experience in risk modelling
Self-starter able to question data and find answers
Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure
Analytical mind-set and ability to analyse large and multiple sets of data
Strong numeracy skills
Management information presentation and PowerPoint skills
Ability to write analytical commentary and summarise findings succinctly
Comfortable working to internal deadlines
Able to prioritise multiple work streams to ensure all deadlines are met
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Maintain enthusiasm and drive to find the answer when particular routes of data analysis fail to provide conclusive or expected results
Salary up to £80K Basic + Benefits (Dependent on experience).
