Reporting directly to the Global Process Owner for Order to cash, the Financial Controller Accounts Receivable will lead the function to ensure that TUI UK&I & Central Europe Accounts Receivable ledgers (Debtors Ledgers) for Sundry and Airline are properly controlled, managed and accounted for and the associated Accounts Receivable staff are managed, motivated and developed.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that the sales of the company are recorded and accounted for accurately and all outstanding monies owed to the company, either revenue or commissions, are collected in a timely manner for both Sundry and Airline receivables across both UK & I and CE and will have line manager responsibility for UK and CE based Managers.

The role of Financial Controller Accounts Receivable is a part of the senior management team within TUI Business Services and plays a key part in driving significant effectiveness and efficiency improvements, facilitating a change agenda with both onshore and offshore TBS resources as well as supporting the on-going roll-out of SAP to other regions.

What you will be doing

In this role you will ensure the accounts receivable ledgers for all non-booking related receivables for all relevant TUI UK&I & CE companies are accurately accounted for and reconciled and you will establish a close working relationship with the Financial Controller for receivables in CE, working and collaborating together to ensure consistent processes are established and sharing best practice.

You will need to understand the impact of SP3 implementation for teams in both UK & Germany and continue to champion the implementation of SAP and work to optimise the use of the new system across all teams in line with the vision of working better, faster and cheaper.  You will proactively respond to the business wide change programme and ensure that the teams are ready to account and report for all changes, whether source system related or not.

The role will require you to develop and maintain robust controls within a risk managed environment utilising the COSO framework, providing the structure to move to a monitored state that includes KPI’s on all key controls.

You will establish and deploy KPI’s to monitor departmental effectiveness and track process efficiency, ensure the management, motivation and development needs of the accounts receivable staff are met in accordance with TUI UK&I staff and human resources policies and ensure effective engagement and deployment of offshore resources.  This role will also include establishing and instilling a continuous improvement mindset in the Accounts Receivable department in both UK and Germany.

You will foster and develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders in both the UK & Germany, ensure transparency over issues through to senior management and set and monitor challenging objectives and provide effective support to facilitate delivery and proactively develop team members to fulfil their potential.

This role will also require you to create and encourage an environment of excellence across all activities of Accounts Receivable.
