We are looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join this countryside hotel near Colchester. With a large area of parkland, an indoor pool and spa and golf courses on site, they serve up Rosette level food with a fabulously British twist. With multiple food outlets on site, and open every day of the week for A la Carte and buffet dining, our client needs a strong Head Chef to manage the growing brigade.

As Head Chef, you will be expected to work closely with management to ensure that every aspect of the service runs smoothly, you must have a good working knowledge of running a kitchen and have previous experience training junior chefs.

The successful Head Chef will be passionate and eager to create outstanding dishes, work well as part of a team and under pressure. Holding the relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent, you will be keen to make an impact.

As the successful Head Chef you will be responsible for all menu planning, stock taking and training. You must be passionate about your role and be willing to give 110%. The ideal Head Chef will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working at Head Chef Rosette level in a fresh food establishment; you will be responsible for high levels of hygiene control and health and safety throughout the department; you will be responsible for staff development and ensuring high levels of catering service and you will be reporting directly into the line manager. The ideal Head Chef must be highly passionate, have excellent food cost controls and the ability to continually raise standards.

The Position

  • The Successful Head Chef will:
  • Have at least 2 / 3 years’ experience within a similar fine dining operation with a background of 2+ Rosettes or Michelin experience.
  • Be responsible for high levels of hygiene control and health and safety throughout the all departments
  • Be responsible for staff development and ensuring high levels of catering service
  • Report directly into the General Manager
  • Be highly passionate, have excellent food cost controls and the ability to continually raise standards

Due to the location, a car driver is desirable
