Purpose of the role
The Head Bartender will be responsible for the smooth operation of the Club House Bar, ensuring all beverage orders are fulfilled in a friendly and timely manner for the members.

Head Bartender – Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

- Must have a minimum of 4 years bar experience in a similar role (ideally within a four/five-star establishment)
- Ideally HCIMA qualified or equivalent
- Personal Licence Holder
- Knowledge of cocktails, wines and spirits is essential
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team
- Smart appearance
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- Confident in working as a team, as well as managing own time

Head Bartender Key Responsibilities:

- Deputise for the Club House Manager and Assistant Club House Manager in their absence
- Lead the Bar team to delivering excellent customer service to all Members and visitors, ensuring Club House SOPs are adhered to at all times
- Establish and maintain consistent quality beverage standards, as well as service standards
- Have a full understanding and working knowledge of Resort Suite
- Plan the labour resource effectively, ensuring that the Bar is manned at all times
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the Bar, paying careful attention to the surfaces, glasses and dispensing units
- Have a full knowledge of all food and beverage offerings in order to upsell at appropriate opportunities
- Create an environment that promotes good employee morale and encourages the Bar team to have high levels of commitment
- Ensure up to date knowledge about daily operations and events, as well as any changes to procedures
- Ensure full knowledge of amenities and services offered
- Oversee the financial performance of the Bar and Lounge areas
- Compile departmental budgets and forecasts and investigate any deficiencies in them, in conjunction with the finance team
- Ensure permanent and casual payroll is accurately forecasted against business needs and budgets and processed accordingly
- Responsible for cost of sale targets
- Ensure controls are in place to control wastage and protect profit margins
- Ensure that stocks of glassware, china, silver and beverage are maintained at adequate levels
- Investigate any issues with transactions at the end of each day and ensure all payments have been processed according to the correct operating procedure
- Check all stock at the end of each day and ensure sufficient quantities are present for the next day
- Positively promote sales awareness within the department and maximize sales opportunities
- Submit new ideas and improvements to the Club House Manager
- Work with the Club House Manager on all Club House events
- Responsibility for complying with company policy concerning health, safety and security of themselves and others and must ensure that they do not endanger others by their acts or omissions
- Ensuring that self and others adhere to all statutory requirements regarding H&S, Food Hygiene, Fire and Employee regulations.
- Actively participate and identify all training and development requirements deemed appropriate for your role.
- Execute the highest level of professionalism and customer service when dealing with internal and external visitors and guests.
