About the role
Interserve Healthcare is a leading care provider who puts care at the heart of everything we do. We support a range of clients varying in age and care requirements which can include mental health, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and clients with more complex clinical needs.
We are currently seeking a Heathcare Assistant to support a young girl with cerebral palsy and PEG feed in HX7 area. As a Healthcare Assistant, you need to be passionate about supporting others and making change to their life.
We require 6 months previous experience in Healthcare, willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, adaptability and excellent communication skills. Any successful Healthcare Assistants will be provided with full training, although experience working with complex care clients and NVQ in Health and Social Care would be advantageous. Also, applicants with full clean driving licence are preferred as the family offers use of their car for accompanying the client to school, outings and appointments.
Shifts required are 8am til 1pm or 4pm til 9pm, mostly at weekends, and ad-hoc shifts during the week.
Following skills & experience required:
• 6 months previous care experience
• Experience of working with clients with complex care needs (advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening
• Have a caring and compassionate attitude
• Can commit to regular hours
• PEG care
• Medication management
• Manual handling
• Cerebral Palsy
