Our client is the global leader in the design and manufacture of valve, mechanical and electronic system components and sensing technologies for the automotive, aerospace and Oil & Gas markets.
They are expanding their portfolio of automotive based sensors. In our technology progression towards the future 'intelligent tyre’ and working with world class tyre manufacturers, we are inviting applications for an experienced electronic design engineer to work in the design and development of new, innovative on-tyre sensor products. This role will involve working within a team of design engineers, designing new features and driving hardware design, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the development and technical evaluation of electronic hardware developments.
As a team player and reporting to the group design team leader, this role involves taking a product from concept stage to customer product. An innovative and creative attitude is essential to ensure a successful and efficient route to a high performance/low cost product. In this role, you will be responsible for leading electronic designs through the development lifecycle, providing technical customer support for key business growth projects and managing project areas to ensure on-time deliveries of customer requirements.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Generation of ideas for new product features
- Component and technology research
- Hardware prototype design and evaluation
- Product design, test and validation
- Liaising with other engineers, technicians, manufacturing, customer, supplier etc
The successful candidate should possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or other related disciplines.
They should be able to demonstrate excellent team working skills within a technical environment. A working knowledge of microcontroller based design and experience in analog and digital circuit design is essential.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience and a background in embedded SW, low power circuit design and RF is advantageous but not essential.
