Title: Software Project Manager

Salary Range: £28.10-£31.33

Division: Vehicle Engineering

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Position Description:

This is Software Project Manager position within Infotainment and Connected Car department. The role would need to manage multiple software development and integration project to deliver next generation telematics and vehicle controller software in line with deadlines.

  • Manages large and complex projects of development in-vehicle systems
  • Project timeframes - 24-36 months
  • Manages the project from the start to completion
  • Establish project plan baseline: project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables' quality, secure the necessary resources, risks, communication plan
  • Execute, Monitor and Control project: track project schedule, scope, budget, monitor & handle changes, conflicts & escalations
  • Develop the PM discipline: simplify processes, methods & tools with innovative ideas
  • Contribute to the development of a project management office tools and processes development

Skills Required:

3 KEY SKILLS

  • Project Management experience (Extensive)
  • IT or Telco Systems Integration project experience as either Project Manager or Technical Leader
  • External suppliers management experience

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in the management of systems integration (SW + HW) and software development projects
  • Experience in Telecommunication, e-commerce or IT industries
  • Proven experience in leading multi-cultural and cross-functional teams, empowering and creating synergies in a matrix organization
  • Proven experience in managing external partners
  • Excellent communication skills to discuss project, technical and business related issues
  • Enthusiasm for software and the automotive industry
  • Work style characterizing high customer orientation
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Strong cultural awareness and excellent language skills (fluent English) to enable communication throughout the organization

Experience Preferred:

  • Professional certificates (one or more): PMP, PRINCE2, Agile PM, SCRUM or equivalent

Education Required:

Successfully completed a university Degree in Computer Science or a comparable Degree. (BEng / BSc / MSc / PhD)
