Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Marine Department, based at the Port of Liverpool. There are multiple positions available including permanent and fixed term. Please note the permanent position is a shift-based role.
Role Purpose: To provide industry leading customer service through the administration of vessel movement planning and bookings for all the Group ports.
This role will include the following responsibilities:
-Liaise between vessels, agents, tugs, Pilots, Port Control Operators and Terminal Managers.
-Support the Group Planning Manager by the supply of information on long-term plans and short-term changes.
-Regularly review the planning system and seek improvements, if needed, through technical enhancement and training as required.
-Support group incident management by fulfilling a central administration role in a group emergency.
-Provide intervention and reconciliation of the port’s short term planning changes.
-Provide a basis for implementing vessel movement plans.
-Ensure relevant electronic records are maintained and updated.
Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
-Previous experience in an administration, scheduling, online booking system or similar role within or outside of the port industry.
-A Marine background would be considered desirable but not essential.
-Ability to display strong attention to detail.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Able to understand and apply geographic and technical information.
-Proficient in PC Skills including Microsoft Office.
-Excellent customer service background.
-5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including Maths and English.
-A full valid Driving Licence is ideal.
