Group Financial Controller | £70-75k + Benefits

North Derbyshire

Eaton Syalon has been engaged by our client to hire a Group Financial Controller into their business. Based in North Derbyshire the group has a turnover in the region of £100 Million. In the role of Group Financial Controller you’ll be at the heart of a fast-paced business leading the finance function and acting as the go-to for all things financial control, reporting, and strategic planning. With full ownership of group consolidations, board reporting, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead group consolidations and produce accurate, insightful monthly management packs for the Board.
  • Act as the primary contact for Group Finance Managers, ensuring consistency and best practice across the group.
  • Manage and develop internal controls, reviewing and challenging control files for accuracy and compliance.
  • Own the year-end process, including statutory accounts and audit management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and develop a cohesive finance team of 6, covering AP, AR, and Credit Control.
  • Oversee VAT, Tax, and Treasury functions.
  • Be a key player in business planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with internal teams on finance projects, acting as the voice of finance across the group.

We are keen to talk to ACA/ACCA/ACMA qualified Accountants with strong technical accounting expertise (IFRS essential). You will be a natural leader with experience managing and developing teams as well as the ability to build excellent working relationships with key senior stakeholders. If you are skilled in ERP systems and Excel and experienced in standard costing this is highly desirable.
