Group Financial Controller

Axon Moore are working in exclusive partnership with a fast-growth, PE-backed, South Yorkshire based business to recruit a Group Financial Controller. The role will see you work closely with a highly experienced Group Finance Director who has a fine track record of successfully growing businesses.

This is a newly created role, following domestic and international growth and a need to ensure greater technical, operational and commercial consistency across the business. Following a root and branch review of accounting processes, controls, reporting & analysis you will enjoy great autonomy to be able to make improvements across the organisation.

Key accountabilities:

- Reporting and analysis - development and implementation of fit-for-purpose reporting and analysis across the group
- Ongoing development of a group accounting manual and ensuring its adoption and compliance
- Supporting financial planning and budget process
- Cash-flow forecasting and leading improved cash management practices across the group
- Providing group wide MI which is accurate, insightful and timely
- Liaison with auditors and tax advisors in ensuring all statutory deadlines are met
- Acting as ERP superuser
- Development of accounting team across several locations – setting objectives and appraising performance

Qualifications / experience / key skills required:

- Educated to degree level with a full accounting qualification ACA / ACCA / CIMA
- Minimum 5 years PQE
- Major accountancy firm trained – preferred
- Strong up-to-date financial accounting knowledge required
- Experience of complex group consolidations required
- Experience of systems improvements / implementation preferred
- Experience of developing staff
- Confident communicator and natural relationship builder

The role is expected to pay £60-65,000 + bonus to 10% + pension + private medical insurance
