Group Financial Controller

Exsurgo are recruiting a Group Financial Controller for this highly recognisable brand based in South West London. This is a growing, entrepreneurial fashion business with exciting global expansion plans. This role would suit an experienced Financial Controller or a Senior Finance Manager looking for their next step up.

Reporting to the Finance Director, responsibilities include:
- Management and preparation of the periodic management accounts process, including posting of journals and preparation/review of reconciliations
- Driving efficiencies in the reporting process to increase the frequency of management account preparation
- Continuous improvement to ensure efficient business reporting and insights to various stakeholders across the business
- Proactive improvement in general ledger maintenance and postings to facilitate the reporting improvements
- Responsible for VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales
- Active management of cash, including preparation of weekly cash flow analysis
- Supervision and review of weekly payment run
- Manage bank working capital requirements
- Inventory management, ensuring inventory within the business is reconciled and accurately valued
- Manage Accounts Receivable/Payable teams and work with the team and the wider business to ensure adherence and improvement in PO and invoicing processes
- Working with external tax accountants to assist with the preparation of annual tax computations and related matters
- Management of payroll process, liaising with external payroll provider and internal HR team
- Preparation of Year End Statutory Accounts and liaison with year-end auditors to ensure swift year end close in line with Group deadlines

Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Qualified accountant, ideally with Top 20 Audit experience
- Must have either retail or wholesale industry experience - please do not apply if you don't
- Significant attention to detail with ability to pick up complex reconciliations
- Expert in Excel and good at picking up new IT systems
- Independent, proactive and self-motivated
- Experience in fashion an advantage, but not essential, although must have experience of working with inventory
- Excellent communication skills
