So what is the job?
Put simply, you will be working as a Group Accountant, producing the Historical Financial Accounts to satisfy the groups external reporting requirements. You will be putting together the monthly, quarterly and annual statutory accounts, delivering these at both a site level with commentary and the consolidated group results.
You will be the go to person for assimilating new accounting standards and implementing these across the group, more than this though, you will have to engage with the senior finance management to make sure that they are aware of the impact of these on their individual's business units.
It doesn't stop there, this role does have some exciting commercial elements too. You will be the person that takes care of the accounting aspects of acquisitions, you will get involved in the restructuring of business units and at times, looking at disposals from a group perspective, making sure that fair value adjustments are applied.
So who are you?
You are definitely a high flyer. You will have stood out amongst your peers during your training contract and you will be someone who is destined for big things. You will be ACA qualified and have a strong knowledge of IFRS and Consolidations (from an audit perspective at least) You'll also be an outgoing individual who can engage with the senior exec. This role will see you supporting the CFO, Group FC, Head of Central Finance and Group Reporting Manager. You'll have to be able to hold your own in these discussions and when applicable, push back.
You'll also be someone who has a deep seated mindset of growth and improvement. You'll want to learn and progress and you'll also want your team to do the same. This role doesn't have line responsibility, but you will be a critical pivot in making sure that reporting happens accurately and on time.
