Reed Finance is proud to be working with a highly reputable & successful manufacturing client in their appointment of a Group Finance Manager. Please note that this role will require a reasonable degree travel, however all within 2 hours of Belfast.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, results-driven person with a professional manner. They will work collaboratively as part of a team to support the strategic direction of the Group. They will achieve team and organisation objectives by getting the best out of others through active listening, as well as constructive challenge

Reporting to the Group Finance Director the person will be responsible for the following:

Financial Risk Management


Identify, evaluate and prioritise financial risk;

Build strong relationships, with clear communication and a straight forward process, to work with the business in identifying financial risk - both core treasury (e.g. liquidity, working capital, foreign exchange, counterparty risk) and other financial risks that may fall within the remit (commodities, interest rate, etc);

Select and implement the most appropriate response to a particular risk for the Group, dependent on its risk appetite;

Ensure that the most appropriate risk evaluation and reporting methodology for the

Group is selected and implemented; included in this will be mitigation strategies with assigned responsibilities and feedback to report on residual risks, adapt policy and refine procedures.

Corporate Financial Management
Play a leading role in evaluating sources and uses of finance. This includes business mergers and acquisitions and individual financing decisions;

Management of cash surpluses as well as borrowing requirements;

Involvement in the development of a financial investment strategy (based on security, liquidity and yield) that is consistent both with the needs of the business and with its risk appetite;

Develop methodology to monitor the creditworthiness of investment counterparties;

Manage intercompany funding of subsidiary operations in an efficient way, and in a manner that is compliant with all tax, legal and regulatory requirements;

Treasury Operations

Develop and lead an effective Treasury function which will support the business and reflect the needs and culture of the Group;

Establish KPI’s for cash and liquidity management and monitor activities in line with these established priorities;

Develop a framework of policies and procedures which enable the treasury to be resilient to external shocks (disaster recovery) and to function effectively;

Build strong relationships within the business and with external financial institutions;

Oversee the effective and efficient cash management of the Group;

Identify and implement cash management solutions for day to day funding of operating units and mechanisms for remitting cash across the Group;

Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasting tools, and the management of working capital and external sources of funds to ensure resilience;

Manage trade finance operational cash flows specifically relating to customer and supplier transactions cross border and internationally;

Deliver effective supply chain finance management.

Commercial Drive & Organisation

Appreciate own position and contribution to wider organisation and understand those of other business functions in delivering the Group’s strategic objectives;

Optimise opportunities within own area of expertise to deliver efficiencies and savings;

Use skills and competences confidently and effectively to help deliver the Group’s
objectives;

Develop mutually beneficial working relationships, internally and externally.

Essential Criteria:

All applicants must be a fully qualified accountant with minimum 5 years PQE, possessing strong leadership and influencing skills and good commercial acumen.

You will demonstrate ssubstantial experience in a senior treasury or financial role, preferably within a large, multisite, manufacturing/commercial organisation.

Ideally you will have broad experience of liquidity management.

You will have a thorough understanding of the various financial markets and related hedging strategy instruments.
