An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Group Facilitators to join Making Space, a not-for-profit care provider to work at our Derbyshire Dementia Support Service in Ashover. This is a fixed term contract ending the end of November 2018. In return we offer a competitive salary of GBP 8.15 per hour.


Making Space provide services in the heart of local communities, in the comfort of people's own homes, and specialist care and support services. Our professional, caring employees and volunteers deliver our services with dignity, respect and compassion, focusing on outcomes that help the people we support has the freedom to enjoy an everyday life.


You will organise and facilitate group activities for people living with dementia and their carers, delivering a high quality and consistence service. You will also research, develop and implement activity schedules that are innovative and reflect the needs of service users.

By working in partnership with other professionals and other community health providers you will promote the service, so that it is responsive to the needs of the individual and the locality and increase attendance rates.

Experience of working with people who experience mental ill health and / or dementia and / or carers, and facilitating group activities is essential, along with excellent communication skills and an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or the willingness to work towards. The successful post holder will also demonstrate the 'Six Cs' - care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.

Working hours are negotiable, working min 16 and max 35 hours per week.

Having your own mode of transport is essential.
