Group Exercise Instructor for the Elderly - New specialist fitness facility in Bahrain - Salary on application
Trainer Job Summary
We are seeking a female Specialized Group Instructor to join our fitness center. In our center we want to encourage older female clients to exercise routinely and to try to change their lifestyle into a more active and healthy lifestyle, but in a medically monitored manner. We do not cure injuries instead we prevent injuries by making our clients stronger and more independent.
In this role, the instructor will be responsible for leading a group of participants aged 50+ through a series of movements and adapted exercises set to music while inspiring and motivating them to improve their health and fitness-related behaviors. We need the instructor to give classes of light aerobics, exercises to enhance balance, muscular fitness, and exercises targeting clients with osteoporosis.
Therapist/Trainer Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in maintaining current class records (i.e. attendance, accident and incident reports, etc.)
Reporting safety concerns regarding facility and equipment
Assists with class coverage outside of regularly scheduled classes
Ensures the safety of class participants
Evaluate client abilities during classes and advise if a class is not seen suitable for a certain client to change to a more effective class.
Create an optimistic and exciting class to encourage clients return
Observe regularly clients progress
Assist and demonstrate proper stretches, techniques, exercise moves, and equipment uses
Recommend specialists to clients who might need additional medical attention
Therapist/Trainer Requirements and Qualifications
Either a Bachelors degree in Physical Theory Education or High level certificate in Instructing Exercise and Fitness
Hold a couple specialty certificates for a specific group exercise format or a nationally recognized Group Exercise Instructor Certification.
Certificates desired include Postural Stability, Chair-based Exercises, Otago Exercise, and muscular training for osteoporosis.
Two (2) years' experience as a group exercise instructor
Able to perform CPR or additional emergency procedures if needed
Good interpersonal skills and communication with a wide variety of clients
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Compassionate and sensitive to clients needs and concerns
