Rutherford Briant are currently recruiting for a Group Cost Accountant in Cambridge. Our client is a leading name in its sector with a country wide reputation for excellence. Due to continued growth they are keen to recruit a Cost Accountant to provide financial information, analysis and advice of full end to end costs.
Your typical duties will include:
- Commercial analysis of direct costs across all business units and provide full visibility of costs incurred. Analyse trends and variances, identifying improvements in efficiency to impact financial performance.
- Working with large, complex datasets and systems, create accessible and user friendly outputs that support the performance monitoring, budgeting, forecasting and pricing/costing processes.
- Provide clear, accurate and timely information to budget holders to enable business decisions to be made to achieve financial plans.
- Engage with budget holders and management account colleagues to support them in producing robust forecasts and budgets and to ensure the financial cycle is complied with.
- Proactively engage to generate a thorough understanding of their business unit costs and the impact on the wider Group. Use that knowledge to support the budget holder in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Work with and develop costing and pricing models as appropriate to support accurate assessments of product and service viability that supports the delivery of key business strategies.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in business processes and activity.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the wider finance community to share best practice and contribute to continuous improvement of the finance service.
