A great opportunity exists within our clients Business Sale & Purchase team for a candidate with strong analytical and numerical skills, along with good Excel skills and lots of ambition. Reporting to the Valuations Manager, you will support the BSP management team with provision of business valuation reports, data analysis and corporate reporting. This role may suit a recent graduate or someone with experience within a similar analytical or reporting role.
You will provide advice and guidance to the field based managers and the business on all aspects of the Valuation process and any related matters. This role plays an important part in the BSP process and involves direct contact with Business Sellers / Buyers during what can be a sensitive transaction often aligned to a major life event (e.g. divorce, retirement, exit). As such it is important to deliver a good service and on promises made. You will also provide technical support and guidance to the operational BSP team.
In time you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the BSP Valuations system. Applies expertise to both projects & BAU as well as undertaking detailed data analysis on behalf of BSP management team and communicating the results of complex analysis to a technical and non-technical audience. You will require effective planning, organisational and delivery skills that are applied to daily workloads, strong communication skills and happy to take the responsibility for the production of BAU actuarial process (e.g. persistency reviews, valuation system adjustments, corporate reporting)
Degree or post-graduate degree and/or demonstrable experience in a relevant industry/subject and a desire to develop further in this area
Good analytical skills and ability to manipulate and interpret complex data sets
Be able to gain and develop knowledge of the end to end BSP process from initiation, valuation, sale, completion and post-sale support
Strong problem-solving skills required to understand the different requirements of each business and how to
adapt the proposition and process to meet the needs.
Ability use sound judgement to resolve issues using non-standard solutions
Able to train/mentor colleagues in excel and data analysis
Decision making responsibility within an agreed set of parameters
Adopts an open, engaging, inclusive style with the team to get the right response.
Required Technical Knowledge & Qualifications:
Desirable: An understanding of the Business Valuation system
