Our partner school in the centre of Bury wish to appoint a full time Cover Supervisor to join their department with immediate effect. This position will initially be available on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to gain a fixed term post for the full academic year.
This position will provide invaluable experience prior to completing a PGCE or teacher training programme.
Covering lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher with pre-set work
Building upon behaviour management skills and classroom presence
Working directly with identified pupils to ensure they can access work
Gain an insight into the National Curriculum
As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the responsibility of covering lessons in the absence of the teacher. Further to this, you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with curriculum leaders and members of the Senior Leadership Team, which will enable you to gain an insight into the daily routines within a mainstream Secondary school.
The small mixed comprehensive Secondary school currently has under 600 pupils on roll and has been graded 'Good’ from Ofsted. They pride themselves on ensuring that every pupil has access to facilities to enable them to achieve excellence. In addition to this, the pupils at school immerse themselves into extra curricular activities, with regular sports evenings.
