Graduate Software Development Engineer / Graduate Software Developer - Video Conferencing - near Reading - 35k starting salary plus excellent benefits

The Company

We have several fantastic opportunities available for talented graduates to join a successful and growing company, founded by a group of video conferencing experts, who have broken away from traditional hardware architectures through the development of a software based, virtualised system.

We have positions available for those expecting to graduate and start their careers before the end of the year, or for those who may have graduated recently, have gained some commercial experience or have yet to begin their career.

Developed using Python, this unique product brings together previously incompatible video technologies seamlessly allowing participants to chat in high definition and share presentations. The work is immensely rewarding, both in terms of creating a robust, scalable, high-availability product, and a development environment that encourages individual engineers to have a real influence on features and functionality and gives them the opportunity to learn new skills and technologies.

The Role

Working within a small, supportive R&D team you will contribute to development work for the core, Linux based platform. Whilst we’re not mandating experience of any specific language, you will be working mainly in Python so must be happy to learn this if required. The work is of a low-level systems nature but also offers the opportunity to acquire/develop new skills including SIP, H323 and WebRTC video conferencing protocols, large-scale distributed systems, network programming, Linux administration, JavaScript, VMware, HTML5, Django, Android and iOS.

Skills and Experience

Candidates must have achieved a 1st class or 2.1 honours degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or Mathematics from a top UK university, those educated outside the UK need to have achieved the same standard. An interest in software development, backed up by personal project work or commercial experience, is also desirable. Please note that unfortunately we cannot consider applicants who are on a dependency visa or who require sponsorship.
