Learning Support Assistant | 1:1 SEN Role | Brentwood, Essex

*** Learning Support Assistant at a nurturing primary school in Brentwood, Essex
*** Long-term, Full-time role starting immediately
*** £60-£70 per day (dependent on experience)
*** Prior experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs essential
*** Confident users of PECs and Makaton essential
*** Graduates with a Second-Class degree or better


The Learning Support Assistant Person Specification
To be successful you must have previous experience of working with children who have special educational needs and ideally have had experience working with individuals with PMLD.
We want to meet graduates who have earned a second class degree or better and can show they are not phased by challenging situations. A clear passion for education is key and the ambition to support learning effectively. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a caring and placid temperament and a nurturing approach to children with SEN.

About the Learning Support Assistant Role
As a Learning Support Assistant you will be supporting the development a specific boy who has just joined the school in Reception. This pupil has a range of complex needs including Global Development Delay, visual and hearing impairments, he is also largely non-verbal. You will be experiencing the inner workings of the school as you are guided by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be learning the fundamental teaching techniques through a comprehensive CPD and training scheme that is tailor made to address the needs of Teaching and Learning Support Assistants.
