If you have the right attitude and strong communication skills, preferably with sales experience of some sort, then we have an amazing opportunity for you to join a serious media player experiencing huge growth.
Our client is a large, successful and fast-growing media company based in London with operations spanning the globe. They specialise in Business-to-Business Media (Events, Print & Digital) across several specialist sectors. Their market value has increased more than 200% in the last 4 years and they now employ nearly 1,000 people across sales, marketing and operations. Their offices are a fun and friendly environment in which to work though you are clearly expected to work hard whilst having fun. The current live roles are in the gaming sector, one of the world’s fastest growing markets.
You will be speaking to current and future clients about the print and digital media options you offer. With a hugely successful portfolio of global events to support your print and digital offerings, you’ll often be speaking to clients who have already attended or exhibited at one of the company’s events. You will be charged with growing their spend into the one of your print options or one of the many digital services you offer.
Most of the work will be telephone based from our client’s office in south west London though you will be expected to network at industry events from time to time. In addition, as your role grows, you will sometimes be meeting clients face-to-face.
If you’re able to understand how to sell consultatively, intelligently and proactively within a professional setting, then you’ll have the chance here to earn, learn and progress whilst making great money.
Here’s the ideal profile our client is seeking. It’s unlikely you’ll tick every box but, if you have most of the requirements below, please get in touch.
The Sales Talent Matrix: Does this sound like you?
Knowledge: Preferably, you have at least 6 months’ experience in a media sales role though, if not, you should have an understanding of how consultative selling works (ask questions and listen to answers to understand your clients’ world rather than talking 'at’ people all the time!). An understanding of media and interest in it is a bare minimum. The more interest in media you have and the more experience you have of selling the better but outstanding candidates without experience are very welcome to apply.
Attitude: Positive, hard-working, enthusiastic, resilient and eager to learn.
Skills: Good written English; excellent spoken English; good questioning skills along with the curiosity to listen to the answers; consultative sales skills.
Habits: You must be a hard-working individual and a quick learner. You should be well-organised including being consistently punctual; able to work on your own initiative.
On offer is a salary of £24-28,000pa with a commission structure which should kick into life by your second or third month to give on target earnings of £38,000- £42,000pa. Commission is uncapped so outstanding performers can earn considerably more. In addition, there are various company benefits (subject to a qualifying period) such as pension contributions, private healthcare and access to a company gym. To apply or find out more, please contact us and quote job ref ST2560.
