Graduate Recruitment Manager

Posted 8 March by Newton Europe

We have an established graduate scheme which punches well above our size, placing 37th in the Times Top 100 and receiving awards and recognition from Glassdoor and the JobCrowd. But we’ll never rest on our laurels, so if you feel you can better that we want to hear from you.

Who are we?

We are Newton.

We’re a team of the brightest and most curious minds with a fundamental belief that every organisation can be better.

We crack some of the toughest business and public sector challenges of the day. Not with reports or copy & paste thinking. But by pinpointing and implementing the changes that will make the biggest difference.

We never start out assuming we know the answer. But we’re always certain we’ll find it and see it through to the finish. By uncovering the data that means the most important decisions are made with facts, not opinions. By bringing together a group of people who live and breathe delivering results. And by embedding in your organisation this same passion, self-belief and know-how to thrive on any challenge in the future.

We believe so strongly in what we can achieve together that we stand by the founding idea of Newton - guaranteeing 100% of our fees against delivering results that are recognised by everyone, from the frontline to the boardroom.

We demand better in everything we do. We think you should too.

What is the role?

We know that only the very best people get the very best outcomes for our clients, so we take our graduate recruitment extremely seriously. In fact, last year we attracted over 10,000 applications to our graduate programme but selected just 75 of them to join the business.

We see graduate recruitment as one of the most important business activities we do. Now we’re looking for a Graduate Recruitment Manager to take this vital function to the next level.

You will be responsible for setting our graduate recruitment strategy, implementing it and innovating it each year.

Reporting to the Head of Recruitment and working closely with internal stakeholders ranging from recent graduates to the board of directors, you will have complete responsibility for the end to end process: from defining the target applicants and marketplaces, through attraction, application processes, selection and offer.

Day to day, you will work on:

  • Managing the permanent and temporary milkround teams
  • Project managing all parts of the milkround campaign
  • Liaising with marketing to define and roll-out the graduate attraction campaign in line with our company brand
  • Developing assessment materials and training our assessors
  • Managing key stakeholders from the business, including the directors
  • Responsibility for graduate recruitment budget
  • Responsibility for recruitment systems (including ATS)
  • Building productive relationships with key stakeholders at our target universities
  • Staying up to date with current best practice and using it to influence Newton’s approach

We offer a highly competitive salary and our generous benefits package includes Life Assurance, Income Protection, pension contributions and 27 days’ holiday.

Joining us also brings many social benefits! We have a full social calendar with Autumn and Spring activity days, Christmas events, 3-day Summer event and 4 Newton-sponsored weekends a year.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll be a high calibre individual, with exceptional levels of personal drive and eagerness for personal development. An analytical mind, coupled with strong communication skills and a positive attitude are essential to fit into the Newton culture.

We’re looking for someone who is currently running large successful graduate programmes as well as managing a team. You will be able to engage with a range of stakeholders productively, from inspiring applicants that Newton is the perfect place to begin their career through to managing the Directors of the business as your stakeholders. You will have evidence of productive relationships you have held with senior people in the business.

An ideal candidate would have personal experience in the assessment of candidates and worked in consulting or a service industry.

The role will be based in our Head Office in Kingston Bagpuize, although there should be an expectation of travel to visit universities and oversee events, particularly during milkround.
