Graduate R & D Engineer - Mechatronics

Oliver Valves Ltd has an enviable reputation for both market and product development worldwide. Our Company’s valves are sold to the leading Oil and Gas operators in over fifty countries and our reputation for high quality and on-time delivery performance has lead to continual growth.

As part of this growth, we are now seeking a graduate Mechatronics Engineer to work within our market leading research and development department.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be required to undertake multiple or single projects within one of the three Oliver companies.

Once fully trained in the operation and testing of the Oliver products your role will be focused on the development of new and existing electro-mechanical test equipment and systems. With the objective of improving efficiencies in the department you will develop both fully and partially autonomous test facilities.

Tests include high and low temperature operation, hyperbaric cycling, fire testing and load testing. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining the Oliver Standard of Quality, for test data and reports. The engineer will also be involved in new product design reviews and FMECA work.

This role requires a highly dynamic and self-motivated individual, who is driven to learn, develop and succeed.

Requirements:

  • Mechatronics Degree or HND qualified.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Thorough understanding of electro-mechanical systems an advantage
  • Solidworks or AutoCAD experience an advantage
