Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Review customer specifications for quotations and provide technical support for the Sales Teams, up to and after order placement.
Working with the Design Office Supervisor, produce drawings, mechanical design calculations, requests for quotation from suppliers, bills of materials, order requisitions and data dossiers.
Project manage orders and handle technical after sales queries.
The job will be self-motivated and customer driven, with an emphasis on the quality of service and products supplied.
Background in Mechanical Engineering would be required, with a Degree/HND/HNC level of education.
Experience of Metallic Vessel Design (Pressure Vessel Codes, Material Selection and Welding Specifications) would be a benefit, as would Pipework Layouts (Isometric Drawings) and Pipework Design.
A knowledge of AutoCAD & Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Power Point) would be required.
Main purpose of the position
Technical Sales Support - To provide technical support, issue technical enquiries to supplier and obtain priced quotations, to enable the Sales Team to produce customer quotations for their range of products.
Design Work - Produce drawings and mechanical design calculations for the product range.
Project Management - Raise bills of materials, order requisitions, progress and co-ordinate with the other Sales Teams and Manufacturing Sites worldwide, up to and including delivery to site. Produce Quality Plans and Production Programs as per customer requirements.
Context of the position and major challenges
Based within the Teesside based organisation, supply technical support for equipment to be supplied to the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries in the UK and worldwide. Liaise with Sales Teams and Production Departments, to ensure clear and concise instructions are given.
A new PTFE Lined Pipework manufacturing workshop was established at Teesside during 2015. The new Mechanical Engineer would assist in expanding this business unit, including producing costings, working with new sub-suppliers, working to customer piping isometrics drawings and specifications, producing detailed order requisitions for materials and project managing orders through to delivery.
