Role- Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary- £20,000- £22,000 per annum (please advise what you would be looking for)

Type- Permanent

Location- Hampshire

My client design and manufacture a variety of process equipment for different industries including the food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. They are looking to take on a Graduate Design Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Hampshire area.

The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar is essential
  • Good knowledge of engineering principles
  • Have the ability to solve problems and evaluate solutions within deadlines
  • Amy previous engineering experience in a related engineering manufacturing environment / Process industry would be desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of using 3D CAD programmes (SolidWorks preferred but others will be considered)
  • Good proficiency with using Microsoft Office
  • Be self-motivated and driven
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • The desire to grow and progress within a company

The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

  • Providing support to the design & engineering team
  • Developing the company's machine designs
  • Being involved in 3D detailing and preparing manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
  • Resolving queries that may come from suppliers and customers
  • Visiting customer site across the world
  • Liaising with different colleagues in various departments
  • Seeing projects through from start to finish
