This role requires a determined graduate who has already spent time in a role where you worked closely with children and an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree. The school is looking hoping for a graduate who has the skills to demonstrate a caring and conscientious attitude when working with SEN pupils and display excellent subject knowledge. You will need to possess the right attitude and skills to overcome challenges in a calm, rational way that will allow pupils to make progress in their work and in life.
In this Learning Mentor position, you will have the opportunity to further your pastoral experience by supervising the learning and development of pupils who have Special Educational Needs. The school assigns a supportive SENCO to each member of the support team and all members of staff at this school benefit from an excellent CPD programme. You will be given the chance to lead small groups of pupils of varying ability, helping struggling pupils reach their targets and accelerating the progress of those who are gifted and talented.
