This role is a 1 year fixed term contract

Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have a new and exciting opportunity for a Graduate Finance Analyst - Services. Based at our Head Office in Milton Keynes Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst - Services, the post holder will be responsible for the integrity and consistency of the financial information relating to vehicle warranty and the customer contract maintenance portfolio.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for distribution to the Financial Controller, Regional Business Controllers, head office and regional managers.
  • Generate monthly invoices for SGB’s vehicle maintenance units; the MK Services Department plus any other ad-hoc invoicing as required.
  • Complete weekly and monthly balance sheet reconciliations including investigation and resolution of any queries.
  • Undertake weekly review of internal sales ledger accounts ensuring all payments and credits are correctly allocated.
  • Prepare month end journals including accruals and prepayment schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of departmental management accounts for the Head Office Services Function.
  • Undertake regular monthly reviews with cost centre managers to identify any improvements in cost control.
  • Prepare departmental quarterly projections and the annual budget.
  • Assist in updating the contracts module to ensure accurate revenues and contracts that are no longer live.
  • Provide support to management and staff at both depot and regional level.
  • Assist in the development and continual improvement of best practice in the Services accounting finance area.
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis work as required by the Senior Financial Analyst.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Sound technical ability in respect of double entry book-keeping; accruals and prepayments; balance sheet reconciliations and cash allocation.
  • Good interpersonal skills for communication with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to organise work and be self-motivated.
  • An ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

Education and/or Experience

  • Intermediate or advanced experience using Microsoft Excel application,
  • Ability to communicate financial results and answer queries will be essential.

Desirable

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines
