Based in Sittingbourne and with offices in Honiton, Stafford and Italy, Ecologia is a multi-disciplinary, specialist contaminated land consultant/contractor that provides advice and undertakes site investigation and remediation projects across the UK and Europe. With an established and excellent reputation for the construction and operation of in-situ remediation plant for soil and groundwater we also offer specialised support to insurance companies/loss adjusters dealing with environmental claims ranging from small-scale domestic spillages to major industrial incidents.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

Graduate Environmental Consultant / Scientist - Sittingbourne, Kent

Candidates will be required to assist and undertake Phase I and Phase II site investigations and reporting, borehole logging to relevant standard; monitoring and sampling techniques for contaminated land and groundwater; Support day to day running and co-ordination of projects includes procurement of equipment, site supervision of staff and sub contractors, execution of health & safety requirements; Validation of on site remediation works. .

Requirements (may include skills to be developed)

  • Appropriate degree and / or Masters.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Proven organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Motivated.
  • Willingness to learn new skills either by external course or in-house teaching.
  • Good report writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Understand the importance of safety, health and environmental issues.

Right to work in the UK, willingness to travel and a full UK/EC driving licence is essential

Environmental Graduate Scientist - Sittingbourne, Kent

This is a varied role that will involve a mix of site-based and office work. Working with members of the Environmental Claims team the successful candidate will be required to undertake Phase I and Phase II site investigations, assist and attend emergency response work, carry out sampling & soil logging, assist with the validation of remedial works, prepare & send samples to accredited laboratories, liaise with contractors, data interpretation and report writing.

We are seeking motivated candidates with good communication and listening skills, capacity to organise and prioritise given tasks and possessing good report writing skills with attention to detail. A relevant degree is required for this role.

Previous summer work/internship experience in the environmental sector would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement. The successful candidate should show willingness to learn new skills and have an understanding of the importance of health and safety. Ecologia will also provide the necessary support to develop these skills by in-house training or external courses.
