About the role

The role will involve being part of a team leading on the statistical analysis and development of our energy portfolio.

You will be exposed and trained on a variety of analytical and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, Qlik and Looker to name a few.

Key responsibilities

  • Tracking changes to our gas and electricity portfolio using a variety of factors including; mix of payment method, consumption levels, customer demographic and any other relevant factors; highlighting trends and identifying opportunities;

  • Gather business intelligence across our business and the wider competitive market place;

  • Produce regular and ad-hoc business reports in order to support decision making;

  • Provide insight and commentary about changing customer habits and behaviour, cross referencing multiple sources of data both internal and from external sources;

  • Take decisions using a good level of independent thought and a pragmatic approach;

  • Tracking changes to the overall competitor landscape including tracking of regional price changes and competitor promotions;

  • Liaising with third parties to track down relevant external sources of data for use in analysis;

  • Communicate both up and down the management ladder, keeping stakeholders informed of relevant information;

  • Responsible for providing support to commercial contract negotiations to ensure that we get the best possible value from any relationship;

  • Become an expert on our data, providing knowledge and support to other areas of the business as required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:


  • Educated to degree level 2:1, ideally with a strong analytical emphasis;

  • Intermediate MS Excel skills;

  • Can do attitude and a willingness to learn.

Desired Skills

  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills, using MSOffice suite;

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Good grasp of business and financial terminologies;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment;

  • You will have the ability to work with key stakeholders to challenge existing processes and develop pragmatic solutions to complex problems;

  • Someone who loves to think differently about problems of all types, challenges assumptions, and throws themselves into creating new solutions.
