Are you looking for further experience working within a secondary school where you can lead lessons?

If so, we would love to hear from you today!

Teaching Personnel work in close partnership with many of the secondary schools in Wigan and are able to offer a variety of opportunities as a result. The schools ideally source the support of graduates to cover lessons and in turn this presents the perfect preparation for those potentially thinking of completing a PGCE in the future. The role of a Cover Supervisor is diverse with the flexibility to cover a range of lessons being preferred. Further, being confident and able to motivate students is essential.

Key highlights of the Cover Supervisor role:

  • Regular, on-going work within a secondary school environment.
  • Gain ideal experience to support a PGCE application.
  • Networking within a secondary school for permanent opportunities in the future.

As a Cover Supervisor within a secondary school, your role is to deliver pre-set work to students within a classroom setting. You are not expected to plan and mark the work, moreover your main duty is to ensure the pupils stay on task and that their behaviour is managed appropriately. There is also the possibility to tutor students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, further gaining invaluable experience of educating students within the school environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who believe they can make a positive impact with 11-16 year olds and want the flexibility of working in a variety of schools.
