For over 150 years, this business has built up an impressive worldwide reputation for excellence in the field of marine and transit insurance claims. They are looking to add a graduate to their team to train as a Recovery case handler. The role will initially be an 8-12 week internship, with the intention of becoming permanent if all goes well.
Recovery case handlers are responsible for managing the recovery aspect of a cargo claim from initial review through to settlement or closure; this includes liaising and developing working relationships with lawyers, shipping lines and others; giving guidance; preparing documentation and correspondence; negotiation; and generally organising the claim.
There are a lot of specific tasks and knowledge involved with this, and full training will be provided so don’t worry if you have no previous experience.
There is also some flexibility on degree type, though Law (LLB) (particularly maritime) may be most relevant. You should be able to show some evidence of being able to write a persuasive argument well, so an Economics, History, Philosophy or Politics graduate may also be relevant.
You will be located in Sidcup, near Bromley, Dartford and south London.
