GRADUATE BUYER

A world leader in engineered products based in Tewkesbury has an opening for a Graduate Buyer, to join their global sourcing team, reporting into the Purchasing Manager.

You would be responsible for a spend of at least €30m, comprising of direct and indirect spend.

The role would involve working with local site purchasing to determine strategy for each commodity/geography. You would be measured against 4 metrics – cost, quality, delivery and responsiveness of nominated supply chains.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Spend mapping and analysis – Collection and maintenance of global spend data for nominated commodities
Maintenance and implementation of a global strategy for nominated commodities
Development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers to nominated commodities
Sourcing projects – support local sites in the identification of opportunities and applying a systematic approach
Supplier Market development – Attend seminars, network with peers, work with other group purchasing teams to identify new suppliers.
Identify areas of risk, i.e. monopoly, proprietary materials, customer approvals etc. that limit our choice of supplier.
Quality approvals – Document quality approvals necessary with several key suppliers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Degree level education (essential) OR studying towards CIPS
Good IT skills
Good contractual/legal skills
Able to analyse problems logically
Able to communicate with people at all levels of the business.
Able to undertake global travel as and when required in role
Self motivated and able to manage own time
