- Minimum 2:1 - core subject preferable but not essential depending on experience

You will be working mainly in KS4 subject lessons, specifically working on exam preparation and lesson cover. You could be working with higher ability students to give them the challenge and push they need, or you could be working with lower ability students who need positivity and encouragement to feel more confident to give things ago and develop personally. These sessions may be organised by yourself or the class teacher, and could be on a 1:1 or group basis.
Each Graduate Academic Mentor will have access to their own classroom when leading covered lessons and when leading your own planned 1:1/ small group intervention lessons.
You will need to have high expectations of your own ability and others, in order to be a positive role model to all students throughout the school. You will need to be trustworthy and positive to ensure all children feel that they are in an environment where they can achieve the best they can. In addition, you will need to be able to develop relationships with staff members, to continue the inclusive and friendly atmosphere they have at school.
The school is highly experienced in training graduates on their foundation work experience year, equipping them with the necessary skills and qualities to be a successful teacher in the future. The school is located within easy distance of train and bus transport links.
This school is located in Sutton Coldfield and is really easily accessible from surrounding areas of Birmingham, Walsall and other areas. There are excellent transport links and access to onsite parking for all staff
You will be joining a strong team of Graduate Academic Mentors/ Cover who will work across various departments, delivering key aspects of the curriculum and driving improvements in progress, behaviour and attendance!
