Goods In Team Leader

A leading FMCG Distribution business based in the West Yorkshire area is seeking a Goods In Team Leader to join the business during an exciting period of growth. In this role you will pre-dominantly be responsible for organising and co-ordinating Goods In; ensuring deliveries of goods are processed as per purchase orders.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure receipting and put away process is recorded in WMS
  • Confirm stock deliveries and quantities as per PO data created from purchasing
  • Ensure all vendor deliveries are checked and processed against vendor paperwork prior to booking in
  • Report any discrepancies or non-compliance of goods-in policy to purchasing and stock management team for further mitigation
  • Assist the team where necessary
  • Ensure transferred stock from returns is checked prior to put away and any discrepancies are reported back to the returns team and dealt with accordingly
  • Ensure monitoring of Vendors is ongoing accurate and administered
  • Check inbound deliveries in advance and ensure locations are correct for put away
  • Plan workload resources, consumables and skillset hierarchy for the daily shift patterns
  • Present weekly errors to Management identifying trends, benchmarking and error reduction
  • Ensure all Customer procedures and Customer Service Level Agreements are up to date
  • Mitigate stock control and Customer Service reports to drive operational excellence
  • Prompt management of re-training or re-evaluation of operatives


Skills Required:

  • Ability to enforce company policies and procedures
  • Stock auditing experience within a FMCG environment
  • Has the ability to influence others
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Commercial awareness
  • System orientated with the ability to generate reports
  • Super user in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven history in similar role

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of up to £20,000 plus bonus.
