Geotechnical Consultant

The company is the world leading independent provider of geo-intelligence and asset integrity solutions.

They are looking for confident, talented and innovative individuals to join their UK land and near-shore geotechnical consultancy team which forms part of their consultancy services offering based in Wallingford.

Their growing geotechnical consultancy team supports their client base in the UK but with a collaborative mentality within the company, they often work across Europe and the wider world to provide innovative solutions to big infrastructure challenges.

As a geotechnical consultant with demonstrable experience you will join a newly established geotechnical team in the UK that is growing quickly. As part of this team you will assist with the management and technical delivery of a range of geotechnical consultancy projects including foundations appraisal and design to EC7, retaining wall design, design of temporary works and excavation planning.

Experience of flood defence assessment and design and 'green infrastructure’ design is an advantage. They are particularly interested in individuals with experience of coastal infrastructure assessment and design. You will be familiar with a range of geotechnical software packages, familiarity with FE analysis is an advantage. With suitable experience more, responsibility for project delivery will be given and you will quickly find yourself leading small and medium scale geotechnical consultancy projects.

The geotechnical consultancy team works alongside their engineering geology & geohazards and their geo-environmental specialists and the ability to see the benefit of close collaboration across disciplines is essential to the role. To offer skills and experience to occasionally support those teams would be a distinct advantage.

Dependant on experience you will be expected to directly communicate with clients and assist/lead with technical proposals and bids. A strong appreciation of the commercial elements of geotechnical consultancy projects would be an advantage.

You may be asked to assist in the supervision of site investigations and to observe construction activities from time to time.
