Hays Education are delighted to be working on behalf of a young Secondary school based in Birmingham City Centre to recruit for a qualified Geography teacher for a post to start from Easter 2019. This post is offered as a full-time role, paid to scale. The ideal candidate will have recent experience delivering lessons of Geography up to KS4. Informal visits to the school can be arranged prior to acceptance directly with Hays Education.
Your new school
The school have recently appointed a new and highly experienced Senior Leadership Team who have a clear vision of improvement and implementation processes. They are looking for teachers who genuinely want to improve the quality of learning for inner city pupils and show an understanding of the task ahead. This would be a fantastic opportunity to join the team at a time where improvement is the future. A blank canvas, the roles offered can be tailored around your own experience and suggestions within the department. The current staff have built a 'family like' environment and are looking forward to the next stage of their journey. Working collaboratively with sister schools is high on the agenda. The school caters for 11 to 16-year olds and are a mainstream, non-selective comprehensive.
Your new role
This role is offered as a full time temporary vacancy to begin immediately. It has the potential to become permanent further into the academic year. The school work on a two week timetable that includes a good balance of teaching hours and preparation time. In your new secondary teaching job you will be expected to plan interesting and challenging Geography lessons for all pupils across KS3 to KS4 that will engage the classes and you will need to have the natural ability to deliver them with confidence and enthusiasm. You will need to be experienced teaching up to KS4 and be familiar with the current curriculum. Full participation in school life is a requirement at this school and in return you will be included into a strong and supportive team.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new teaching job you will have completed your studies and hold QTS. You will be an experienced Geography teacher that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. The ideal candidate would have been in a long term or permanent teaching role and will be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from the previous employer.
