Job Title: Reception, General TA
Location: Selly Oak
Job Type: Full-Time, 5 days per week
Job Role:
Aspire People, is seeking a full time, dedicated and passionate General TA to work with children within a reception class
You will be working with a class teacher to support a group of 31 children aged 5-6.
SEN ratios within reception classes are typically higher than average, so an understanding of ASD, ADHD and willing to support with personal care is desirable.

Pupils enjoy learning at this faith school, situated near a busy Selly Oak high street. The executive headteacher and the leadership team provide determined and purposeful leadership. As a result, there have been significant improvements to the quality of teaching and the progress that pupils make. Leaders and the interim executive board know the school well and successfully address weaknesses. This provides good capacity for continued improvement. The leadership and teaching in the early years are outstanding. Children make rapid progress and are exceptionally well prepared for Year 1. Teaching is typically good because leaders support staff to improve through carefully planned training. Teachers and teaching assistants use skilful questions to deepen pupils' understanding.
Teaching in mathematics leads to strong progress for pupils. Pupils have a good grasp of basic skills and apply these skilfully when solving problems. Teachers are developing a reading culture in classrooms. Pupils are enthused about the books they read and they enjoy the challenge of reading comprehension questions. The school is renowned for it's inclusivity, work ethic and strong/ disciplined ethos. Challenging behaviour is minimal, we routinely get good feedback on the schools behaviour policy, pupil support and supportive atmosphere.
Desirable qualifications/ experience:
* Experience as a General TA is essential
* Team teach training
* Level 3 in health and social care, Childhood Studies or Teaching Assistant related qualifications
* or BSc/ BA qualification within a child/ mental related setting
