As a General Operative reporting to our Assistant Quarry Manager and operating to the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards, you’ll play a key role in contributing to profitability by minimising waste and inefficiencies whilst maximising productivity. Operating both fixed and heavy mobile plant, you’ll also undertake basic maintenance and housekeeping duties, working shift patterns, nights and weekends as required to ensure we achieve production targets. In addition to plant and equipment inspections to ensure they are fit for purpose, report any defects, you’ll also be involved in:
• weighbridge duties
• loading shovel driving
• maintaining daily/monthly records.
With maths and English to GCSE level and, preferably, some quarry experience or similar, you have sound knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and the ability to operate MEWP, telehandler and loading Shovel. A qualified first aider, able to work both independently and as part of a team, you’re punctual and flexible with:
• the ability to work to deadlines
• great customer focus
• a good timekeeping and attendance record.
Hours are 48 per week. Pay is monthly and there is a company pension scheme and 25 days’ holiday per annum.
