A rare and exciting opportunity is available within NHS Ayrshire and Arran for individuals with substantial and effective leadership skills to support and influence the development of health services to the population of Ayrshire and Arran.
As the General Manager for Medical Services you will play an active role in developing implementing and leading the delivery on Acute service strategies as well as fully contributing to wider decision making and strategy development for the organisation.
Reporting to and working closely with the Assistant Director for Acute Services at University Hospital Crosshouse you will be accountable for the effective delivery of all on site Medical Specialties Acute Medical Services and Accident & Emergency Care of the Elderly Dermatology Neurology and Stroke services.
You require to be educated to Masters or equivalent with extensive management experience at a senior level within a large complex organisation and have the personal credibility and interpersonal skills to lead and deliver in a politically sensitive and demanding role. You will also have in-depth knowledge and experience of clinical financial and HR management and a proven track record of delivery against challenging operational targets and working with senior executives and clinicians from a variety of fields.
